On 31 December 2019, the World Health Organisation (WHO) reported a cluster of pneumonia cases in Wuhan City, China. ‘Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2’ was confirmed as the causative agent of what we now know as ‘Caronavirus disease 2019’ (COVID-19).

I had hoped to avoid any mention of COVID in this message but sadly, notwithstanding the devastation caused by the recent insurrection, which in turn was sparked by the shenanigans of our recalcitrant ex-President, the pandemic continues to dominate the news and our lives.

To do so, we simply cannot continue to push product features or even customer benefits – instead, we need to clearly communicate the value that our solutions deliver to our customers, our customers’ customers, and even further down the value chain.

In other words, know your product’s ultimate value to end-users.

We were able to sell a license of Yellowfin and then develop custom executive dashboards for senior and sales management at our customers. Our medium and larger customers were able to take advantage of this solution, but it did require a separate sale for the add-on license.
As a small niche software and professional services company, our partners are an essential element of our growth and sustainability.
